Limuru, Kenya
This morning M.G. and Ken took the air freight into Nairobi.  They got back in time for lunch.  Then M.G. and I went back into town to attend Connie Hampton’s wedding.  She married Don Lindsey.  When we got home about 5 o’clock there was an African lady from Kibubuti here waiting to see me.  She had brought her baby to the hospital over here and said that she was unable to get a ride home.  I made tea for her and gave her some sweet potatoes.  Then the Donaldson’s came by wanting to go into town to eat.  We went with them and took the African lady home as we went.  We ate at the Chinese restaurant which in under the conference center.

Dad and I must have hit the road early in order for him to get back in time to get ready for the wedding.  I am sure that I did not attend the nuptials knowing that they would not remember if I was there or not.

My folks got back home only to find an unplanned but not unpleasant interruption.  You don’t have to have lived in Africa many years until you get used to God arranging opportunities for you to serve.  As a matter of fact you don’t have to live anywhere long to realize that this is one of the reasons God lets you stay alive.  Mom gave this lady physical as well as spiritual help and helped her along life’s way.  Yes, by the end of the day Dad and Mom had made several trips to town but she would be the first to say, “God put me here to serve not to be served.”

Every time I think about eating Chinese food either here are in Kenya this song comes to mind!
